If you’re looking for a movie that takes the whole “getting cold feet before the wedding” thing and launches it directly into a psychological meltdown, The Drama is worth putting on your radar.

The movie stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as Emma and Charlie, a couple who, on the surface, seem to have everything figured out. They’re in love, they’re about to get married, and wedding week is supposed to be the happiest time of their lives.

Then comes the dinner party.

During a drunken game where everyone is challenged to reveal their worst secret, one confession completely changes the temperature in the room. And without getting into spoiler territory, what comes out is big enough to make Emma and Charlie question just about everything they thought they knew about each other.

From there, The Drama becomes less of a traditional romantic movie and more of a pressure cooker. The closer they get to the wedding, the more that secret starts affecting their relationship, their families, and the people around them.

And that's really where Zendaya and Pattinson get to have some fun. You're watching two people who are supposed to be planning their future while simultaneously wondering if they even know the person standing next to them.

The interesting thing about The Drama is that the movie isn't just asking, “Can this relationship survive a huge secret?”

It's asking a much nastier question: How much truth can a relationship actually handle?

If you're into relationship dramas with a psychological edge, uncomfortable dinner parties, secrets, and that slow-burn feeling that everything is about to explode, The Drama definitely has the ingredients.

Bottom line: The Drama takes wedding-week romance, throws in one absolutely disastrous confession, and watches the relationship unravel from there. And if you think you know where this story is going, the movie clearly wants you to think again.
